The Japanese government now allow Philippine citizens who wish to visit their country may now apply for multiply-entry tourist visa, this is one of the privilege given by the Japan to the Filipinos for the first time.
The move is part of Japan’s relaxation of its visa policies towards Southeast Asians. The news was confirmed by the Japanese embassy in Manila this week. The cabinet of the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe eased its visa policy for citizens of Southeast Asian countries as Japan aims to increase tourist visits to Japan by citizens of the fast-growing region.
The Embassy Press Officer, Kenji Hirai was quoted as saying that, “The cabinet of Prime Minister Abe decided to allow the issuance of multiple-entry visas from the Philippines,” said Kenji Hirai stated.
For the past few years, the multiply-entry visas to Japan were issued to three categories of travelers, Hirai said: those visiting Japan for commercial purposes, artists and specialists (athletes, professors and government officials) and immediate family members of Japan residents.
The Filipinos experienced before that the Japanese visa is one of the toughest to get, because of Japan’s strict requirements and screening process. Japan offers other types of visas for Filipinos, including single-entry visas for spouses, relatives or friends of Japanese residents and visas for medical stay.
